Vestiphobia is an overwhelming, irrational fear of clothing. The vestiphobic individual simply wants to be free of clothing. Individuals coping with Vestiphobia may insist on wearing loose, oversized clothing or in extreme cases, may withdraw from society completely in order to avoid being clothed. The symptoms of Vestiphobia are individual and will vary among people. Some people, when confronted with their fear of clothing, may begin to perspire, feel slightly uncomfortable or become nauseated. At the opposite end of the spectrum, other people are so severely compromised by this phobia, that they may experience crippling anxiety and/or panic attacks.

Vestiphobia is a combination of Latin and Greek words. It derives from the Latin word “vestis”, meaning clothing, garment or covering and the Greek word “phobos” meaning fear.

Ergophobia also called Ergasiophobia, is an abnormal and persistent fear (or phobia) of work, finding work or functioning. Sufferers of ergophobia experience undue anxiety about the workplace environment even though they realize their fear is irrational. Their fear may actually be a combination of fears, such fear of failing at assigned tasks, fear of speaking before groups at work, or fear of socializing with co-workers. As with any type of phobia, ergophobia may have developed from an incident of trauma at some earlier point in a person’s life. Losing a job or being mocked or maligned for poor work in the past could be a couple of reasons why people develop this fear

“Ergophobia” is derived from the Greek “ergon” (work) and “phobos” (fear). “Ergo” is also used to form other English words, including “ergometer” (a device that measures the amount of work done by muscles) and “ergonomics” (an applied science that designs office equipment and furniture with the aim of maximizing functionality and improving worker comfort).

Coulrophobia is abnormal or exaggerated fear of clowns. The condition is common among children, but is also sometimes found in teenagers and adults. Sufferers sometimes acquire a fear of clowns after a bad experience with one personally. In several fictions and thrillers, filmmakers have successfully made use of this concept where the antagonist is shown to be dressed like a clown and committing crimes in concealing outfits. such as the monster that took on the disguise of a clown in Stephen King’s novel and film It.

Coulrophobia can also be said to extend to a fear of covering up one’s face with paint—the idea of hiding recognisable features under a layer of face paint can also unsettle coulrophobia sufferers.

Symptoms of coulrophobia can include shortness of breath, rapid breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating,or nausea after exposure to clowns or, clown-related media.

They worry that they might mismanage money or that money might live up to its reputation as “the root of all evil.”

The fear of money is termed chrometophobia or chrematophobia, from the Greek “chrimata” (money) and “phobos” (fear). The “chrome” in “chrometophobia” may also be related to the Greek word “chroma” (color) because of the brilliant colors of ancient coins — for example, gold, silver, bronze and copper.

The fear of beautiful women (usually related to shyness and fear of rejection). Another name for this is venustraphobia. Fear of women in general is gynephobia. Defined as “a persistent, abnormal, and unwarranted fear of beautiful women”, each year this surprisingly common phobia causes countless people needless distress. It can cause panic attacks and keep people apart from loved ones and business associates.

Symptoms typically include shortness of breath, rapid breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and overall feelings of dread, although everyone experiences caligynephobia in their own way and may have different symptoms.
Like all fears and phobias, caligynephobia is created by the unconscious mind as a protective mechanism. At some point in your past, there was likely an event linking beautiful women and emotional trauma. Whilst the original catalyst may have been a real-life scare of some kind, the condition can also be triggered by myriad, benign events like movies, TV, or perhaps seeing someone else experience trauma.
